Chicken and Spinach Kofta – Rida Aftab Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ kg boneless chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup fried onion
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp hot spices powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Ingredients for gravy
  • 250 grams yogurt
  • 1 kg boiled spinach
  • 1 cup crushed onion
  • 1 cup oil
  • 10 green chilies
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp fenugreek

How to make Chicken and Spinach Kofta

  • Finely crush ½ kg boneless chicken and 1 cup fried onion in a chopper.
  • Add ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp ginger garlic paste, ½ tsp hot spices powder and a beaten egg to the chopped mixture. Mix together and form koftas.
  • For Gravy, add a cup of oil in a pan and fry a chopped onion.
  • Then add ½ tsp ginger garlic paste, 2 tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds, ½ tsp salt, 4 tbsp fenugreek and 250 grams yogurt and stir well.
  • When oil forms a separate layer, add koftas and cook for 10 minutes. Now add 1 kg boiled spinach and cook on low flame for another half an hour.
  • Then add 10 chopped green chilies and cover the pan with its lid. Let it cook on low flame for 10 minutes.
  • Delicious Chicken and Spinach Kofta is ready to serve.
