    1 cup walnuts

  • 3/4 lb. skinned, boned chicken breasts
  • Marinade:
  • 1 teaspoon rice wine or dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups oil for deep-frying
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Peppersalt,if desired
  • Orange or pineapple slices

How to make Deep Fried Chicken With Walnuts

  • Crush walnuts into rice-size pieces with the flat side of a cleaver.
  • Slice chicken breasts into 2-inch square pieces.
  • Combine marinade ingredients in a medium bowl.
  • Add chicken; mix well.
  • Let stand 15 minutes.
  • Heat 6 cups oil in a wok over high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Dust each piece of chicken with cornstarch, dip in beaten egg and coat
    with crushed walnuts.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Carefully lower chicken pieces into hot oil with a slotted metal spoon.
  • Deep-fry about 2 minutes until golden.
  • Remove with slotted spoon, draining well over wok.

Chinese Fried Walnuts Ingredients

    Chinese Fried Walnuts Recipe

    1 pound shelled walnuts

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • salt to taste

How to make Chinese Fried Walnuts

  • Place walnuts in a medium stock pot. Cover with water and boil for 2 minutes. Strain, but do not rinse. Transfer to a bowl, and toss with sugar while still hot until well coated.
  • Heat 3 inches of oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. When oil appears to shimmer, fry 1 nut to test for heat. Nut should begin to sizzle immediately. Fry 1/3 batch of nuts at a time for 4 to 5 minutes uncovered. Toss nuts before each batch, and repeat. Using a slotted spoon, transfer each batch to a cookie sheet to cool. Season to taste with salt, and break apart when cool.
  • Chinese Fried Walnuts is ready to serve.

    3 tablespoons butter

  • 4 cups chopped peeled tart apples (about 5 medium)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice, divided
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 jar (12-1/4 ounces) caramel ice cream topping, divided
  • 1 carton (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
  • 2 loaves (10-3/4 ounces each) frozen pound cake, thawed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Additional apple pie spice, optional

How to make Caramel Apple Trifle

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the apples, walnuts, brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice. Cook and stir for 8-10 minutes or until apples are tender.
  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in 1/2 cup caramel topping and remaining apple pie spice. Fold in 2 cups whipped topping.
  • In a 3-1/2-qt. trifle bowl or glass serving bowl, layer a third of the cake cubes, cream cheese mixture and apple mixture. Repeat layers twice. Garnish with remaining whipped topping and drizzle with remaining caramel topping. Sprinkle with additional apple pie spice if desired. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Caramel Apple Trifle is ready to serve.

Akhrot ka Halwa

  • Walnuts – 2 cups.
  • Sugar – 4 cups.
  • Low fat unsalted butter, 1 stick.
  • Milk, 3 cups.
  • Food color, 1 pinch.
  • Cardamom powder, 2 teaspoons.

Method:

  • Grind the walnuts into a smooth paste by adding ½ cup of milk along with it in the blender.
  • Heat a pan and the stick of butter to the pan. When the butter has melted completely, add the ground walnut paste, remaining milk, sugar, food color, cardamom powder and stir everything well until the sugar melts. Keep stirring till the halwa becomes thick.
  • The halwa will slowly become thick and when the halwa comes along with the spatula while stirring with without sticking to the bottom, switch off the stove.
  • The final halwa consistency should not be too thick, it should be a little bit runny. When it starts cooling, it will become thick to the desired consistency.

Walnut Burfi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Walnuts (roasted)
  • 1-1/2 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • Nutmeg Powder
  • Cardamom Powder

Method:

  • Keep one fistful of nuts aside and grind the remaining walnuts into powder.
  • Now heat the milk and sugar together.Stir continuously till it thickens.
  • Add in powdered walnuts. Mix thoroughly and keep stirring until, the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Now add the whole walnuts, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder.
  • Mix thoughroughy and remove from the flame.
  • Spread this on a greased plate or sheet.
  • Keep in refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  • Cut it into square shaped pieces.
  • Walnut burfi is ready to serve.
