Walnut Chicken Salad Ingredients

  • Walnut Chicken Salad4 skinned and boned chicken halves
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 cup finely ground walnuts
  • 1/2 cup fine, dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 6 cups torn mixed salad greens
  • 4 cups torn fresh spinach
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend
  • 16 cherry tomatoes, cut by 50 %
  • Buttermilk-Honey Dressing

How to make Walnut Chicken Salad

  • Place chicken between 2 sheets of heavy-duty plastic wrap; flatten to 1/4-inch thickness employing a meat mallet or rolling pin.
  • Brush buttermilk evenly over chicken.
  • Combine walnuts, breadcrumbs, and salt in a very shallow dish, dredge chicken in mixture.
  • Pour oil in to a large skillet; place over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Add chicken, and cook 3 minutes on each side or until golden.
  • Remove from heat; cool slightly.
  • Cut chicken crosswise into thin slices.
  • Combine salad greens and spinach, and arrange on everyone of 4 individual plates.
  • Sprinkle with cheese, and top with tomato halves and chicken.
  • Walnut Chicken Salad is ready to serve with Buttermilk-Honey Dressing on the side.

    1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1/2 cup super fine sugar

How to make Walnut Balls

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Cream the sugar and butter. Add flour, nuts, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Batter will be very crumbly.
  • Shape into 1 inch balls. Bake for 15 minutes, remove from oven and allow to cool for 3 minutes. Roll in super fine sugar. When cool, roll again, if desired.
  • Walnut Balls is ready to serve.

    Walnut Cheesecake Recipe

    3/4 stick (6 Tbsp) 75 g butter or margarine

  • 175 g shortcake biscuits, finely crushed
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) 2 oz caster sugar (superfine granulated)

for the filling

  • 225 g curd or sieved cottage cheese
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup (substitute light corn syrup)
  • 2 level tbsp plain flour (All purpose)
  • 6 tbsp double or whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) 2 oz caster sugar (superfine granulated)
  • 75 g walnuts, chopped

for the topping

  • 16 walnut halves
  • icing sugar (confectioners sugar)

How to make Walnut Cheesecake

  • Preheat an oven to 160°C, 325°F, gas mark
  • Melt the butter or margarine and sugar in a saucepan over a gentle heat and stir in the biscuit crumbs.
  • Press evenly over the bottom of a greased loose-bottomed 18 – 20 cm (7 – 8 inch) round cake tin. Chill while you make the filling.
  • Soften the cheese in a large mixing bowl. Beat in the egg yolks, golden syrup, flour and cream.
  • Whisk the egg whites until stiff, then whisk in the caster sugar.
  • Fold lightly but thoroughly into the cheese mixture, together with the walnuts.
  • Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and smooth the surface.
  • Arrange the walnut halves on top of the cheesecake mixture.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 hours or until firm but still spongy to the touch.
  • Turn off the oven, open the door and leave the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour.
  • Chill in the tin for 2-3 hours.
  • Ease the sides of the tin carefully away from the cheesecake and lift the cheesecake out on the tin base.
  • Dust the surface with sifted icing sugar.
  • Walnut Cheesecake is ready to serve.

  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 14 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted
  • 2/3 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar

How to make Walnut Chocolate Cookies

  • In a medium bowl, sift the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt onto a piece of parchment or wax paper. Set aside. In a mixer, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix until combined. On low speed gradually add the flour mixture and mix until incorporated. With a wooden spoon, mix in the walnuts. Add the melted chocolate and milk, and stir to combine well. Refrigerate dough until firm, about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch logs and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes more. Cut logs into 1-inch slices and roll in confectioners’ sugar. Transfer to an ungreased cookie sheet and bake until golden around the edges, about 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire racks.

How to make Eggless Date & Walnut Cake

  • Grind together chopped dates,sugar, milk , curd for smooth paste.
  • Pour in a mixing bowl and add oil , fold oil in properly.
  • Take maida and baking soda & sieve tiwce together. Add this to the batter in mixing bowl along with walnuts.
  • Now mix this batter till air starts getting in the batter.
  • Meanwhile Pre-heat oven at 350 degree C Take a baking dish & powder it with little maida so cake comes out without sticking.
  • Pour in the batter & settle it. Slide the dish in oven & let bake at 350 degree C for 50 mins.
  • Check after 45 mins by piercing, if the knife comes out neat it’s done.
  • Serve with Kheer or Custard along or eat alone.

  • 3 apples – peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs

How to make Apple Walnut Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.
  • Combine the apples and the white sugar; set aside. In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla. Stir in the apple mixture, then the flour mixture. Fold in the walnuts.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.

How to make Walnut Pudding

  • In a small heavy skillet, combine sugar, flour and baking soda; cook and stir over medium heat until light brown. Reduce heat to low; gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Stir in nuts. Pour into two serving dishes. Chill. Garnish with whipped cream and walnuts if desired.

    125g butter , at room temperature

  • 125g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 125g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 heaped tbsp coffee , dissolved in 100ml water
  • 100g walnut halves

How to make Walnut Cakes

  • Heat the oven to 170C/fan 150C/fan Line a deep 18cm loose-based or springform cake tin. Beat the butter and sugar together with electric beaters and then beat in the eggs, flour and baking powder.
  • Beat in 1 tbsp of the coffee mixture and then add up to another tbsp little by little until the mixture drops easily off the spoon. Keep the rest of the coffee mixture for the icing.
  • Stir in half the walnuts, snapping them in half as you drop them into the bowl. Spoon into the tin, level the top and bake for 40 minutes or until a skewer comes out cleanly. Cool.
  • To make the icing, beat the butter until soft and then beat in 200g icing sugar followed by the remaining coffee mixture, little by little. Stop when you have a depth of colour and flavour that you like. If the icing looks a little soft, beat in extra icing sugar.
  • Cut the cake into 3 slices horizontally and then sandwich the layers together with some of the icing, you need a reasonably thick layer. Ice the top of the cake with the rest of the icing and decorate with the rest of the walnuts.
  • Walnut Cakes is ready to serve.

    Chocolate Walnut Cake Recipe

    4 ounces bittersweet or unsweetened chocolate ( I use unsweetened)

  • 4 egg whites
  • 12 tablespoons butter, warmed to room temperature
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1-2/3 cups flour, measure then sift
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground anise
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (omit if using salted butter)
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting, optional
  • Chocolate Walnut Cake

How to make Chocolate Walnut Cake

  • Preheat oven to 325 F.
  • In a small saucepan carefully melt the chocolate so that it doesn’t scorch.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites and salt with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, set aside.
  • Toast the walnuts in the oven just enough to smell fragrant, but not to brown. Let cool then chop.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolks until light and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and walnuts. Mixing just until combined.
  • Combine milk, melted chocolate into the egg/butter/sugar mixture by alternating each addition. (ie don’t dump and stir everything together.)
  • With a spatula, gently fold in the beaten egg whites.
  • Transfer to a well-greased Bundt pan.
  • Bake for 60 – 75 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • If you like, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Or use a standard chocolate glaze, like I did in this picture.
  • Chocolate Walnut Cake is ready to serve.
