    1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 turkey drumsticks (12 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 can (8 ounces) Hunt’s® Tomato Sauce
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup red wine or additional chicken broth
  • 5 teaspoons onion soup mix
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 bay leaf

How to make Roasted Turkey Drumsticks

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine flour and white pepper. Add drumsticks, one at a time, and shake to coat. In a skillet, brown drumsticks on all sides in oil. Transfer to a greased 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish; set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, combine the tomato sauce, broth, wine or additional broth, soup mix, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes or until flavors are blended. Add bay leaf. Pour sauce over the drumsticks.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Turn drumsticks; cover and bake 30-40 minutes on each side or until juices run clear and thermometer reads 180°.
  • Roasted Turkey Drumsticks is ready to serve.

    1 cup dry gemelli pasta or 1 1 / 3 cups corkscrew macaroni

  • 1 1 / 2 cups chopped cooked turkey or chicken
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 / 3 cup fresh lime or lemon juice
  • 1 / 4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoon snipped fresh thyme or 1 / 2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
  • 2 medium nectarines or plums, sliced
  • 1 cup halved fresh strawberries

How to make Turkey and Fruit Pasta Salad

  • Cook Pasta According To package directions, preferably al dente (firm to the bite). Drain, rinse with cold water and drain again.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine pasta, turkey, and green onions. Toss to combine.
  • For dressing, in a screw-top jar, combine lime or lemon juice, oil, honey and thyme. Cover and shake well. Pour dressing over pasta mixture, toss to coat. Cover and chill for 4 hours or overnight.
  • Just before serving, add the nectarines or plums and strawberries. Gently toss to combine.

Makes 4 servings.

Christmas Roast Turkey Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (18 pound) Fresh Whole Turkey, neck and giblets removed
  • 2 cups kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large onions, peeled and chopped
  • 4 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 4 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cup dry white wine

Method:

  • Rub the turkey inside and out with the kosher salt.
  • Place the bird in a large stock pot, and cover with cold water.
  • Place in the refrigerator, and allow the turkey to soak in the salt and water mixture 12 hours, or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Thoroughly rinse the turkey, and discard the brine mixture.
  • Brush the turkey with 1/2 the melted butter.
  • Place breast side down on a roasting rack in a shallow roasting pan.
  • Stuff the turkey cavity with 1 onion, 1/2 the carrots, 1/2 the celery, 1 sprig of thyme, and the bay leaf.
  • Scatter the remaining vegetables and thyme around the bottom of the roasting pan, and cover with the white wine.
  • Roast uncovered 3 1/2 to 4 hours in the preheated oven, until the internal temperature of the thigh reaches 180 degrees F (85 degrees C).
  • Carefully turn the turkey breast side up about 2/3 through the roasting time, and brush with the remaining butter.
  • Allow the bird to stand about 30 minutes before carving.
