  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 sandwich rolls, split

How to make Tuna Patty Sandwiches

  • In a bowl, combine the egg, mustard, crumbs and tuna; mix well. Shape into four patties (mixture will be soft). In a skillet over medium heat, fry patties in oil on both sides until lightly browned. Place two patties on each roll.

  • 4 ounces of cheese and ingredients from the variations below

How to make Chicken sandwiches:

Grill, bake, microwave, or broil the chicken fillets according to package directions or your recipe with seasonings. Place lettuce leaves and chicken on buns and top with the desired topping from the variations below.

    Dawn or any other bread 12 slices

  • Cooked chicken, shredded 3 cups
  • Mayonnaise 1/2 cup
  • Green onion 1/3 cup minced
  • Fresh coriander 1 teaspoon minced
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • Almonds 1/2 cup finely chopped smoked
  • Lettuce leaves, washed and dried 6

Method:

  • In a bowl stir together chicken, 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, green onion, coriander, smoked almonds and pepper.
  • Spread mixture evenly on 6 slices of bread, top with lettuce and remaining 6 slices.
  • Cut diagonally and serve.

  • 2 broiler/fryer chicken (3 to 3-1/2 pounds each), cooked and shredded
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 1-1/4 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon each salt, celery seed and chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • Hamburger buns

Method:

  • In a 3-qt. slow cooker or Dutch oven, combine all ingredients except buns.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours in the slow cooker or simmer for 1-1/2 hours on the stovetop. Serve on buns.

    1 lb. thinly sliced roast beef

  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 whole onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small can sliced mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons Wondra flour
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper

Method

  • In a medium saucepan, bring beef broth to a boil. Add onion and garlic powder, ketchup, minced garlic and sliced onion.
  • When broth comes to a rolling boil, drop in the separated sliced roast beef and remove immediately from heat.
  • Using a slotted spoon, remove roast beef from broth after 2-3 minutes. Return broth to stove on high setting and sprinkle Wondra flour over surface, stirring briskly to avoid lumps.
  • Simmer over medium heat 5 minutes. At the last minute, drain the sliced mushrooms and add. Pour over roast beef on white bread. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve.
