Date Pickle Ingredients:

Date Pickle (khajoor ka Achar) Recipe

  • 500 gm Dates
  • 1/2 Cup red chili powder
  • 1/2 Cup garlic paste
  • 1/2 Cup ginger paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 tsp Oil

How to make Date Pickle

  • Soak the dates in water for 1 week, in the refrigerator.
  • After 7 days, the dates will be very soft.
  • Remove the seeds from the dates and then strain them.
  • In a pan, heat oil.
  • Add garlic, ginger, red chili powder and salt.
  • Then add the date paste and cook for 5 min.
  • Remove it and cool.
  • Date pickle or Khajoor ka Achar is ready to serve.

    1/2 cup each of chopped dates, sugar, chopped walnuts, veg. oil

  • curd : 1tbsp
  • milk : less than 1/2 cup
  • maida : 1cup
  • baking soda : 1 flattened tsp.

How to make Eggless Date & Walnut Cake

  • Grind together chopped dates,sugar, milk , curd for smooth paste.
  • Pour in a mixing bowl and add oil , fold oil in properly.
  • Take maida and baking soda & sieve tiwce together. Add this to the batter in mixing bowl along with walnuts.
  • Now mix this batter till air starts getting in the batter.
  • Meanwhile Pre-heat oven at 350 degree C Take a baking dish & powder it with little maida so cake comes out without sticking.
  • Pour in the batter & settle it. Slide the dish in oven & let bake at 350 degree C for 50 mins.
  • Check after 45 mins by piercing, if the knife comes out neat it’s done.
  • Serve with Kheer or Custard along or eat alone.
  • Eggless Date & Walnut Cake is ready to serve.

    1 cup dates, pitted and chopped

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to make Date Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 C). Grease and flour two 8 inch round cake pans. Set aside. Put dates in a bowl with soda and pour boiling water on top. Set a side.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together 1 cup sugar, 2 1/2 cups flour and 1 cup chopped walnuts. Add egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla, pinch of salt and tablespoon butter. Mix to combine. Finally, stir in chopped dates with liquid. Mix well. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cake will pull away from sides of pans and be golden brown.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine buttermilk, 1 cup sugar, pinch of salt and 4 tablespoons flour. Cook on medium heat until thickened. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and remaining cup of walnuts.
  • Spread mixture between layers and on top of cake. Let filling run down the sides of cake.
  • Date Cake is ready to serve.

    200 g (7 oz) stoned dried dates, chopped

  • 30 g (1 oz) unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 240 ml (8 fl oz) boiling water
  • 140 g (5 oz) light muscovado sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 280 g (10 oz) plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tsp ground mixed spice
  • pinch of salt
  • 115 g (4 oz) walnuts, chopped

How to make Date and Walnut Cake

  • Place the dates in a bowl with the butter and bicarbonate of soda. Pour over the boiling water and stir until the butter has melted. Set aside to cool.
  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF, gas mark 4). Lightly grease an 18 cm (7 in) round deep cake tin and line the bottom with baking parchment.
  • Place the sugar and eggs in a large bowl and beat well to combine. Add the cooled date mixture, then sift in the flour, baking powder, mixed spice and salt. Add the walnuts and stir together until thoroughly mixed.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and level the top. Bake for 1–1 1/4 hours or until the cake is risen and nicely browned and a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  • Turn out onto a wire rack and leave to cool. The cake can be kept, wrapped in foil or stored in an airtight container, for up to 5 days.
  • Date and Walnut Cake is ready to serve.

How to make Date Donuts

  • Beat the aeegs and then n a bowl combine them with the sugar and melted butter.
  • Beat this mixutre well.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour with the baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
  • Fold in the dates and add other dry ingredients to egg mixture with milk and lemon extract.
  • Combine both mixtures together.
  • Heat oil in deep-fat fryer.
  • Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  • Drain on paper towels and cover with sugar to serve.

  • 1 package pitted dates coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup margarine or butter softened

How to make Layered Date Bars

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In 2 quart saucepan, heat dates, walnuts, sugar, and 1 1/4 cups water to boiling over high heat.
  • Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 10 to 15 minutes, until dates are soft and mixture is thick, stirring occasionally.
  • Set aside.
  • Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and baking soda.
  • With hand, knead in margarine or butter until dough forms.
  • Press half of dough evenly in bottom of 13″ by 9″ metal baking pan.
  • Bake 15 minutes or until pale golden.
  • Spread date mixture evenly over hot crust.
  • Sprinkle remaining oat mixture on top.
  • Bake 25 minutes longer or until golden.
  • Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  • When cool, cut lengthwise into 4 strips, then cut each strip crosswise into 8 pieces.

  • 3/4 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup(s) pecans, coarsely chopped

How to make Date Nut Bread

  • In 2-quart saucepan, heat 1 1/4 cups water to boiling over high heat. Remove saucepan from heat; stir in dates and margarine or butter. Let stand until cool, about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease 9- by 5-inch loaf pan.
  • In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. With fork, stir egg into cooled date mixture; stir into flour mixture just until evenly moistened (do not overmix). Stir in pecans. Spoon batter into loaf pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake bread 1 hour 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean. Cool bread in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on rack. Cut into slices to serve.

Honey Date Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb raw almonds
  • 2 pints pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • vegetable oil, for forming balls

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Grind the almonds in a food processor until finely chopped.
  • Move chopped almonds to a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes, until fragrant and just a shade darker.
  • Coarsely chop dates and add to food processor.
  • Pulse until finely chopped and dates form a ball. Remove from processor to a bowl.
  • Add half of the ground almonds to the dates, leaving the reserved almonds on the baking pan to roll the balls in once formed.
  • Add the honey to the date and almond mixture.
  • Mix together until evenly mixed and smooth.
  • Coat your hands with some vegetable oil so mixture does not stick too much.
  • Form mixture into 1-1/2″ balls.
  • Roll each ball in ground almonds to coat well.
  • Place in a sealed container until ready to eat.
  • Any leftover chopped nuts for coating can be sprinkled over the balls to keep them from sticking together when moving.
  • Will keep for up to 5 days at room temperature or up to a week in refrigerator.
  • Honey Date Balls is ready to eat.

Coconut Date Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of pitted organic dates,cut in small pieces
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 3 cups organic coconut,shredded
  • 1 cup ground flax seeds
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Some extra shredded coconut for coating

Method:

  • In a medium sized saucepan, cook the dates, honey and oil over low heat until they’re blended together.
  • Turn off the heat and add the shredded coconut and ground flax seeds. Let the mixture cool.
  • Once cooled, stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Place the extra coconut in a shallow bowl.
  • Roll the date mixture into small balls (about 1 – 1/2 inches) then roll them in the shredded coconut.

Date Chutney Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kilo Dates (Khajoor)
  • 2 teaspoon fresh Ginger (Adrak), cut into thin long strips
  • 4 teaspoons Salt (Namak) (level)
  • 1 cup Sugar (Cheeni)
  • 6 teaspoons Raisins (Kishmish)
  • 1 1/2 cups or 2 cups Vinegar (Sirka)
  • 1/4 cup blanched Almonds (Badam)
  • 2 Cloves (Lavang)
  • 2 big Cardamoms (Elaichi Moti)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground Cinnamon (Dalchini)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chili pepper (Lal Mirchi)

Method:

  • Stone the dates and cut them in halves.
  • Put dates, ginger, ground spices, salt, chilli powder and vinegar in a pan and cook till dates are tender.
  • Now add sugar and cook until the mixture thickens.
  • Remove from the fire, add raisins, almonds slit into halves and stir well.
  • While the chutney is hot pour into clean jars and cork tightly.
  • Serve after 4 days.
