Moong Dal Sheera Recipe

  • 2 Cups soaked Moong Dal
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 3/4 Cup khoya
  • 2 Cups ghee
  • 1/2 Cup mixed dry fruits (Almonds, Cashewnuts, and Raisins)

How to make Moong Dal Halwa:

  • Grind the soaked dal using little water to make a paste.
  • Prepare sugar syrup.
  • Heat ghee and add moong dal paste to it.
  • Stir it properly.
  • Reduce the flame, add milk to it and cook until the milk thickens.
  • Add sugar syrup to the moong dal and mix it well.
  • Cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Now add khoya till it dissolves.
  • Adorn it with dry fuits.
  • Moong Dal Halwa is ready.

Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

  • 100 gms Moong Dal
  • 200 gms Ghee
  • 100 gms Sugar
  • 1/2 glass Water
  • 10 pieces Badam
  • 5 pieces Pista
  • 4-5 Currants

How to make Moong Dal Halwa:

  • Soak moong dal for two hours and then grind it and keep aside. Heat ghee in a pan and put the moong dal in it.
  • Saute on low flame till it turns golden brown and leaves a distinct aroma. Remove from the flame and set aside.
  • Heat water in a pan, add sugar and boil the mixture till sugar melts.
  • Put the moong dal mixture in this sugar syrup and cook on a low flame till the dal and sugar blends well.
  • Remove moong dal ka halwa from the flame and decorate it with chopped dry fruits. Serve.

Mohanthal Recipe

  • 3 Cups gram flour (besan)
  • 400 gm Sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 Cup ghee or butter
  • Dry fruits for garnishing

How to make Mohanthal:

  • Combine milk and besan in a thali and keep it for half an hour.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and roast besan on low flame for 12 minutes.
  • Add the condensed milk and cook for 15 minutes, stir it until the mixture thickens.
  • Remove the mixture from fire and place in a greased plate and garnish it with dry fruits.
  • Cut into desired shapes when cool.

  • 1 liter full cream milk
  • 3-4 tbsps yoghurt
  • 250 gms sugar

How to make Mishti Doi:

  • Boil the milk in a heavy-bottomed pan, on a medium flame till it is reduced to half its original volume. Stir frequently to prevent the milk from sticking. When it is complete, cool the milk till it is just warm.
  • Put the sugar in another pan and heat it over a low flame to melt.
  • Allow the sugar to caramalise (brown). Remove from the fire when done, add the reduced milk to this caramalised sugar and mix well till it blend.
  • Mix milk and sugar thoroughly now add the yoghurt to the mixture and stir gently to mix.
  • Pour into the desired container and keep in a warm dark spot for the Mishti Doi to set. The best taste results are achieved by setting the Mishti Doi in a earthenware pot.
  • When the Mishti Doi has set and is firm, chill for a few hours and serve.

Mini Sweet Potato Tarts Ingredients:

Mini Sweet Potato Tarts Recipe

  • 3/4 pound sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 (9 inch) refrigerated pie crust
  • 3/4 cup evaporated skim milk
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup halved cranberries (optional)

How to make Mini Sweet Potato Tarts:

  • Place the sweet potato in a saucepan with just enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook until fork tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and mash with a fork or potato masher.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Divide the pie crust into 24 small balls. Press them into the cups of two 12 cup mini muffin pans to make tartlet shells. Set aside.
  • Spoon the sweet potato into a blender or food processor, and add the evaporated milk, egg whites, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Puree until smooth. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of this mixture into each tart shell.
  • Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into one of the tarts comes out clean. Cool in the pans over a wire rack. Garnish each tart with a cranberry half before serving.

How to make Mango Kulfi:

  • Peel the mango and chop it into small pieces.Discard the seed.

  • Now add the cardamom powder, cook for 10 more minutes till the mixture thickens.
  • Now add saffron and pistachios.
  • Lower the flame and allow to cool completely.

  • 250 gms Ripe mango pulp
  • 250 gms Powdered sugar
  • 250 gms Khoya
  • ½ tsp Cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp Chironji.
  • 1 tsp Pistachio, chopped.
  • 1 tsp Tutti-frutti, chopped.
  • Orange Color(optional)

How to make Mango Burfi:

  • Mix mango pulp and 1 cup sugar.
  • Cook in a pan over medium heat till reduced by half. Keep it aside.
  • Now fry khoya over medium flame till it turns little brown.
  • Add the remaining 50 gram sugar and mango pulp-sugar mixture to it.
  • Cook till the mixture turns semisolid.
  • Mix orange color, pour it immediately in a greased plate.
  • Allow cooling, cut into diamond pieces.
  • Garnish with cardamom powder, chironji nut and pista.
  • Mango Burfi is ready.

For Rabri:

  • 1 liter Milk
  • 1 cup Sugar

For the Syrup:

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • Saffron strands
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder

For the Malpua:

  • 500 gms All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 400 gms Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Slivered almonds and pistachios to garnish
  • Ghee

How to make Malpua:

  • Mix the milk and 1 cup of sugar in a thick-bottomed pan.
  • Cook to reduce it to a fourth of its original volume while stirring frequently.
  • Remove it from the fire; allow cooling and then chilling in the refrigerator.
  • Mix equal quantity of sugar and water in a pan.
  • Boil it until a single-thread consistency is obtained.
  • Add cardamom powder, saffron threads, mix well.
  • Keep it aside to use later.
  • In a large mixing bowl, blend the condensed milk, flour and baking powder together to form a smooth batter.
  • Meanwhile heat enough ghee in a deep frying pan to cook the malpuas.
  • Pour the batter into the oil to form circles about 4″ in diameter.
  • Cook till golden brown.
  • Remove from the oil and put directly into the sugar syrup.
  • Remove after 2-3 minutes and drain on a wire rack.
  • Now to serve, place 2 malpuas in a plate, spoon rabri over them and garnish with slivered nuts.

Magaj Recipe

Magaj Ingredients:

  • 500 gm Chick pea flour
  • 50 gm Khoya
  • 250 gm Sugar
  • 2 tsp Green cardamom powder
  • 10 Pistachios, blanched
  • 10 Almonds, peeled and blanched
  • 250 gm Ghee

How to make Magaj:

  • Combine the chick pea flour with 1/2 of the ghee and sift it through a sieve.
  • In a wok heat the remaining ghee and the sifted besan.
  • Fry until the besan is golden but not brown.
  • Combine the khoya with it and stir on low flame, set aside.
  • Make sugar syrup of one thread consistency and add this syrup and cardamom powder to the fried besan, mix properly.
  • Pour this mixture on a plate that has been lined with oil.
  • Decorate it with blanched pistachios and almonds.
  • Cut Magaj into diamond shapes.
  • Let it cool.
